FIBERFRAX is the Unifrax Corp’s trademark for their ceramic fiber refractory materials. Fiberfrax is made of non-asbestos ceramic fibers, woven loosely together to form thin paper or thicker boards that withstand the high temperatures of fusing and the corrosive effects of molten glass. FIBERFRAX BOARDS are available in 3 thicknesses (1/4, 1/2 & 1” thick). Use as a lining to protect the expensive (and easily eaten away by molten glass) firebrick in your kiln. Use on your workbench as a heat proof pad to set your slumping molds on. FIBERFRAX BOARDS can be cut to size or carved using a utility knife. For best results, do your cutting before the first firing.
