Wissmach Glass

WISSMACH GLASS has been making the widest variety of colored glass in the US since 1904. Their opalescent glass is in demand by lamp makers for their balanced color mixes and uniformity. The glass surface is smooth and scores easily, making Wissmach about the easiest cutting glass on the market.

Cathedrals in Smooth and Textures
Wissmach has many textures to choose from for their single color cathedrals including: Aqualite ("AQ"), Double Rolled ("DR") Smooth, Corella Classic ("CC"), Dew Drop ("DW"), Flemish ("F"), Granite ("G"), Hammered ("H"), Moss ("M"), Ripple ("R"), Seedy ("S")
Corella Classic Cathedrals
Corella Classic is a very lightly hammered texture with broad appeal.
English Muffle
A reproduction of a Victorian texture that was originally produced in England in the early 1900s. A great choice for both restoration and contemporary stained glass work. English Muffle appears as a non-directional texture, allowing for minimal waste.

Mystic Cathedrals, Streakies and Wispies
Wissmach's Mystic texture includes a collection of cathedrals, streaky cathedrals and translucent wispy opals all with a traditional catspaw-type texture. Rich coloration, subtle texturing make this a great choice for any project.
Streakies
Streaky Cathedrals are bright, transparent colors streaked together (usually on clear). “DR” suffix is smooth, “G” suffix is granite, “R” suffix is ripple. Colors are listed in order of predominance in mix.
Opals and Wispy Opals
Opalescent Colored glass are mixed with white opal. The “D” suffix is a DENSE opal, “L’s” are LIGHTER density. All work well in lamp and window work. Wisspy Opalescent Colored glass uses less white opal and adds a ladle of crystal clear to give a light, airy feeling to their wispy opals. Selected colors available iridized (-i suffix)
Victorian Mottle
Victorian Mottles have a soft mottling effect. This mottled effect, when combined with color combinations that were popular in the 1900s, makes this the perfect glass for restoration and reproduction work.

Stock Sheets
Factory Stock Sheets - typically 32x42" except for Victorian Mottle which are typically 28x34"
