compatible glass. The colors produced by Wissmach compliment other
COE 96 glasses, expanding your palette, all with the reasonable
prices offered by the Wissmach factory. There are no boxing charges for any glass
purchased from this page. Larger sheets are available: 10x16,
16x21, 21x32 and 32x42"

GENERAL INFORMATION |
-
Wissmach 96 uses a double rolled technique to
give a smooth bottom surface and a polished top surface. The
smooth and soft top surface makes scoring easy.

This glass is made by "casting" the
glass directly on the rollers, minimizing air bubbles and
maximizing uniformity and smooth surface.

Wissmach 96 glass is sold as 8x10½,
10½x16 and 16x21". Stock sheets are 21x32 and larger sheets may
be available. At present, only 8x10½ sheets are available on
line. Call our Order Desk at 1-800-828-7159 for more information
and to order larger sheets.

Wissmach's Luminescent coating
is similar to regular iridized coatings -
but not exactly.
-
When fired
Luminescent side down on a fiber board kiln shelf that has a dry
powder kiln wash dusting (ie. the dry powder right from the kiln
wash container), the luminescent effect is intensified
-
When fired on a
regular kiln shelf or on Papyros shelf paper, the coating will
look intense - but not quite the same as fired above
-
Fire with the coated
side up and the coating will stay on deeper, darker colors if
fired no higher than 1410°F. On lighter colors, the bulk of the
effect will disappear, leaving a lovely sheen
-
Fire with a cap of
clear and you will loose the effect.
