You can paint with Mica Powder. Mix a bit of Mica Powder with Klyr Fire medium and brush on.

For bead makers, sprinkle Mica Powder on a graphite marver and roll your hot and soft bead through the powder. Your bead must be hot and soft. Since the mica doesn't melt like glass frit, the bead must be soft to adsorb the powder.

 Patty Gray's bowl at left utilizes different shades of mica powder brushed into the recesses of System 96 black chord opal. The close-up photo below shows the effect achieved. Patty has also added bits of frit and stringer to break up the linear effect of the chord texture.

A clear cover is added and the project is taken to full fuse. Mica powder can be used with all COE's from 90 to 104,

A one ounce packet will do a dozen or more bowls as shown above.
When used in a thin layer,1 oz will cover approximately 10 sq ft.
