Use cross
bars to span the opening at the top of your lamp. Choose from economical
steel or easy to solder brass. Steel Cross Bars are threaded for 1/8IP
(3/8" threaded rod) and Brass Cross Bars will slip over 1/8IP (3/8"
threaded rod). |

SPIDERS |
|
Use spiders in place of cross bars on
multi sided lamps. The ends of the spider arms can be bent to follow the
contour of your lamp shade and soldered into the inside of the solder
seam or lead came.

-- Use 4-Way Spiders for 4, 8 and 12 sided lamps
The center bushing on spiders will slip
over 3/8" threaded rod. Excess rod length can be bent or
cut. Be sure to use a hot iron when soldering harps to your lamp to
ensure a lasting joint.

THREADED ROD |
|
These
threaded rods (also known as "nipples") hold your lighting fixture together and pass the wiring to
the sockets. All threaded rod is 1/8IP (3/8" outside diameter) and will
thread on to our line of sockets,
loops and finials. They will pass
through cross bars and spiders. Use with
locknuts and washers to keep
things tight. Can be cut with hacksaw to custom lengths or coupled
together with barrel couplings. |

threaded rod? Need to transition from 1/8IP (3/8" threaded rod) to
1/4-27 threads (like you find on lamp harps). These are the parts you
need.

To make 3/8" threaded rod longer, use the
#6114 Barrel Coupling to join sections.

To go from 3/8" threads to ¼" threads,
use the #6113 Reducing Bushing. If you're threading a finial to your harp,
screw the bushing on the harp and then screw the finial to the bushing.
To join 3/8" rod to the ¼" threads (to extend the height on a harp
or to use a threaded cross bar)
screw the #6113 bushing to the harp, screw the #6114 coupling to the
bushing and then screw the desired length of threaded rod to the
coupling.
